JoveChart File Format

JoveChart log files are text files and may be edited with WordPad or any text editor that can handle large files. The format of these files is defined below.

Each data sample value is preceded by a "D", (including quotes). A comma follows and then the
data value which is an average of raw samples obtained from the sound card.

Time stamps are preceded by a "T", (including quotes). A comma follows and then
a pound sign (#). This is followed by a Visual Basic date/time string. Since the
date was not specified in obtaining the date string Visual Basic defaults the
date to 1899-12-30 (YYYY-MM-DD format). This date will increment to 1899-12-31 and
beyond if the observing computer's clock increments to a new date during the
observation. The time portion of the date/time string reflects the computer
24 hour time in hh:nn:ss format where nn=minutes. The date/time string is terminated
in a pound sign, followed by a comma, and finally a digit which indicates the
sampling interval. The interval may be interpreted

"2" = 10 ms. (milliseconds)
"3" = 20 ms.
"4" = 50 ms.
"5" = 100 ms

The following sample of a JoveChart log file illustrates the file format.
